General Information
Wheelchairs and specialist vehicles for easy access to aircrafts are available on request. There are disabled toilets with alarm button and radar key facilities, available from the Information Desk on the ground floor. There is a minicom telephone at the Information Desk (0191 214 3333) and a pay text-phone on the main concourse opposite the Information Desk. Newcastle International lies in the heart of the North East. With the A1 being a principal north south road by-passing the City Centre and leading direct to the airport, Newcastle International is one of the most accessible regional airports.
From the north: The A1 is the principal road linking to the dual carriageway A696 leading directly to Newcastle International.
From Edinburgh, the A68/A696 provides a direct road to the airport.
Recent upgrades to the A74 between Glasgow and Carlisle now make the journey to Newcastle Airport even easier.
From the south: Drive North up the A1, the road by-passes Newcastle City Centre as it connects with the upgraded A696 direct to the Airport.
From the west: The A69 links with the A1 and then the A696, providing a direct route to Newcastle International.

Check In
It is recommended that you check-in at least one hour, preferably 2, before your departure time.
Hand luggage should not exceed 7 kilos and must not contain any sharp objects, replica guns, etc. You should also not take anywhere in your luggage such items as flammable or poisonous liquids, etc.
Security Information
Before entering the departure lounge, all passengers must pass through security. You will be asked to produce your boarding card and passport for inspection before being screened. All hand baggage will be passed through an X-ray scanner and should be kept to a minimum. Do not leave your baggage or personal belongings unattended in or around the terminal, as they may be removed or even destroyed. Never leave your baggage in the care of a stranger. Put your name and address clearly on the outside of your baggage. Do not accept parcels that belong to others.

Airline Lounges
Spectrum Internet Lounge offers broadband access, WiFi, a digital photo centre and soft seating. The all new Internet Lounge provides the perfect relaxing environment to surf, talk or work, with fantastic views over the runway.
Cheviot Executive Lounge is located in the departure lounge and is open to passengers over the age of 12 years. Complimentary drinks and snacks are available together with credit card operated telephone, fax and Internet facilities. The British Airways Lounge is located downstairs in the departure lounge, and is available to all BA full-fare ticket holders, Executive Club passengers holding Premier, Gold or Silver cards, their franchise partner airlines and their One World Partner airlines. The lounge offers coffee, light snacks and wines, and a business centre area with Internet access, telephone and fax.

Banks and Money Exchange
National Westminster Bank is situated adjacent to the domestic arrivals gate. NatWest provides a full banking service for travellers and visitors including a currency exchange and a cashpoint machine.
Travelex desks are located next to W H Smith on the ground floor of the terminal, and in International Baggage reclaim and in the depature lounge. Travelex offers a range of travel money services including currency exchange, travel insurance and worldwide money transfer.
There is also a cashpoint machine available on the ground floor desk. Open 0530 - 2300 daily.
Shops and Duty Free
Shops include Alpha, Beauty Lounge, Tucci, Boots, Traveller, W.H.Smith, Tie Rack and Dixons.
There is also GameGrid Entertainment area with virtual reality games, slot machines and many others.
Food and drink is available from the Food Village, Costa Coffee, Burger King, Bar des Voyageurs, Mihoko, Caf? Ritazza, Caf? Pronto, Echo Bar and Greggs.
